5 Fiction Books About Witches

Witches. The word means a lot of things to a great many people. You may think of The Wizard of Oz or Hansel and Gretel. Maybe you think about how innocent woman in the past were killed simply for being different.

Whatever the title conjures up in you it’s safe to say that most of us are interested in a story about a witch. It doesn’t matter if they are good bad or in between we like hearing about them.

Here are five stories I recommend.

Hex, by Thomas Olde Heuvelt, is a book I’ve shared before. It is a story with a little bit of a twist on the classic witches hex.

The Witch of Blackbird Pond, by Elizabeth George Speare , is the classic case of befriending a witch, (which so happens to be a nice old lady who lives alone,) and getting accused of witchcraft.

The Witches, by Roald Dahl is a classic story told by one of the greatest storytellers to ever put pen to paper. A smart witch doesn’t let you know they are one until it’s too late.

The Witching Hour, by Anne Rice, is one of the best family of witch’s stories ever told. The Mayfair witches are ready to tell you their story. Are you ready to hear it?

The Physick Book of Deliverance Dane, Katherine Howe, is about a Harvard grad who researches witches and finds out that she might actually be a witch. It reads like one part novel, and one part history lesson.
